About the Role 

The Partnership Coordinator supports the Partnership Lead with the system and approach being developed and rolled out within CARE’s 2022-2027 Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP) ‘Pacific Partnerships for Gender Equality’. The Partnership Coordinator supports collaboration with other partnership specialists in country office and CARE presence teams. The role supports the Lead in design and implementation of a Partnership system and approach for CARE Australia that delivers on commitments towards localisation and strategies aiming for equitable partnerships in locally led programming.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Undertake desk based review and research to support the Partnership Lead with key projects for building CA’s approach to partnership and capability strengthening
  • Support the development of a Partnership System and Approach for CARE that encompasses the relational aspirations of CARE in building equitable partnerships for gender transformative outcomes
  • Working in collaboration with key ANCP stakeholders contribute to delivery of the Partnership objectives within ANCP including (but not limited to) annual planning, project inception, annual reflection, learning agenda development and research agenda development
  • Support operational delivery of key ANCP program level initiatives particularly spaces of partner engagement
  • Support CARE Australia to engage in ANCP program delivery in ways that support an equitable partnership model
  • Actively contribute to the roll out, learning from and adaptation of CA’s Theory of Change as it relates to Partnership and Locally Led development – this includes related policies and approaches, advocacy and ongoing monitoring of context to ensure adaptation of programs and approaches
  • Manage budget and delivery of individual ANCP project activities held by the partnership team and ensure they meet risk and compliance obligations, policy expectations and program quality standards

Ideally you will have: 

  • Subject matter knowledge – equitable partnership, transformative feminist partnerships, decolonial and locally led approaches – you have experience developing partnership approaches and are committed to building transformational relationships to deliver impact
  • Track record in working in partnership - an understanding of diverse partners and how to  meet them where they are AND/OR track record of implementing partnership based programs, strategies and /or research – you have worked in partnerships and can critically identify how to improve them
  • An understanding of partner capability strengthening modalities and approaches and how to implement these in practice
  • Demonstrated experience in working in diverse teams, and exceptional cross-cultural skills and experience with intersectional feminist approaches, localised approaches and sensitivity to power
  • Ability to manage multiple competing deadlines and priorities effectively and efficiently including budgets, project management processes and multiple stakeholders
  • Ideally, experience with humanitarian and development programming
  • Personal experience of the contexts we work in and/or the forms of injustice we seek to address would be an advantage
  • A commitment to the protection of children and the prevention of sexual harassment, exploitation and abuse
